I struggle when it comes to this time of year. I love summer and to have the sun soak into my skin and be wrapped in the warmth of it. I do love the change of seasons - the coziness fall and winter bring, but let me roam in bare feet with my hands in the dirt and I'm a happy girl.
This January sky above my backyard shows God's artwork, a pink and purple winter marshmallow sky, a reminder to be grateful for the simple things that make these cold winter months easy to appreciate.

One of my favorite things to do is visiting museums - and one of the best "day dates" I ever had was lunch and a day at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. Throughout the whole museum that day, this was my most favorite piece: an etching by Magdalena Abakanowicz. I stood in front of it forever.
